BIM Coordinator

London, Manchester

The BIM Team are looking for talented and experienced BIM Coordinators to join either our Manchester or London offices. You will be a dynamic confident individual with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our BIM and Design Technologies team. You will be experienced in working on UK BIM Framework projects and to BS EN ISO 19650-2 and will be able to discuss how you have implemented this on previous projects. As a BIM Coordinator you will be expected to have 3 years minimum industry experience (Architectural discipline) and a minimum 1 year experience as a BIM Coordinator working on large projects.

As software skills are key to the role, you will have at least 3 years Autodesk Revit (Architecture) experience and have a solid understanding of most of the software functionality (Dynamo experience also desirable). Additional practical software experience will be expected for Navisworks, Rhino and Grasshopper.

Building Regulations Lead

London

Sheppard Robson is recruiting a Building Regulations Lead to join its team in London.

The practice is looking for a communicative and technical individual who will act as a focus of knowledge of the building regulations (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) across the practice. The role will include supporting project teams to ensure that designs are fully compliant with the functional requirements of the building regulations.

This person will work closely with the technical director and the central technical team providing technical guidance and specification writing support to all the project teams.

The role is preferably located in London.

Key tasks:

- Review projects at all design stages for compliance with building regulations and provide feedback and reports

- Provide technical updates to the practice on all issues to do with building regulation compliance

- Review and comment on/mark up PDF drawings using Adobe/PDF Exchange or Microsoft Office software (Word/ Excel/PowerPoint etc.)

- Relate effectively to individuals and project teams to provide support to enable them to develop fully compliant designs in accordance with the building regulations

- Act as a central resource of knowledge and skills on the interpretation and application of building regulations to all projects

- Represent the practice where required at industry events/roundtables etc. concerning building regulations and the regulatory environment

Preferred qualifications

- A degree in a construction-related field (design-focused preferable)

- Membership to the RIBA, RICS, CABE or CIOB

Experience

- Background in Architecture, Building Design or Building Control

- Strong knowledge of building regulations in England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

- Strong knowledge of fire/structural/MEP/acoustic engineering disciplines

Specification Writer

London

Sheppard Robson is recruiting a Specification Writer to join its team in London.

The practice is looking for a communicative and technical individual who will act as a focus for specification writing and cladding expertise, coordinating the in-house training in specification writing, and preparing and maintaining SR bespoke guidance notes within NBS Chorus software. The role will also include managing the interface between NBS Chorus platform and BIM modelling software.

This person will report to the technical director. The role is preferably located in London.

Key tasks:

- Creating and maintaining SR bespoke clauses and guidance notes within NBS chorus software platform

- Writing and reviewing specifications to ensure a consistently high standard is maintained across the practice

- Integrating with all technical directives, including Design Delivery Group (DDG) initiatives and presentations

- Providing technical support to staff across all grades and disciplines

- Preparing and presenting in-house training seminars for specification writing to cover both general guidance on specification writing and the operation and use of NBS Chorus software

Skills and experience

- Proven experience as an Architectural Technician or Specification Writer

- A demonstrable background in the architectural sector, with solid experience creating NBS documents and construction details

- Strong technical ability

- Excellent understanding of UK building regulations

- Good communication and presentation skills

Head of Sustainability

London

Sheppard Robson is seeking an experienced and passionate sustainability leader to join Sheppard Robson as Head of Sustainability. This is a senior leadership position responsible for championing sustainable design across the practice, with support from our Sustainability Coordinator and Social Value Champion, Sustainable Materials Specialist and wider Sustainability Group.

The ideal candidate will drive our sustainability agenda both internally and externally, combining technical expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills to influence positive change across the practice and wider industry.

This senior leadership position will be instrumental in strengthening our position as industry leaders in sustainable design as we approach our 90th anniversary in 2028.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the practice's established sustainability team

- Drive net zero carbon organizational strategy and implementation

- Provide strategic sustainability input on projects and design reviews

- Champion sustainable practices and deliver staff training

- Represent the practice on industry bodies and at external events

- Oversee development of in-house sustainability tools, guidance and processes

- Support business development and marketing initiatives relating to sustainability

Essential skills and experience:
