Neal leads projects across numerous commercial typologies from Sheppard Robson’s Manchester office, with considerable experience in all stages of the design process— from initial brief-taking and outline concepts, to detailed proposals and rigorous production information.
This breadth is evident in his recent portfolio of work, which includes an ambitious and experimental timber-framed pavilion at Hardman Square, Manchester, and projects that pursue the zero-carbon agenda. Other notable schemes include the workplace and science project, Citylabs 1.0 and New Victoria, a major mixed-use project in Central Manchester.
At the heart of Neal’s designs
, is a drive to question industry standards in order to improve the quality of our places, spaces and buildings, shaping a more responsible future for the built environment. Neal is a regular commentator on design, with his published essays including discussions on the power of placemaking and Manchester’s urban parks. He is also an active member of the British Council for Offices.
