Eugene Sayers RIBA Partner
Eugene has over 20 years’ experience of designing cutting-edge spaces for science and education, which are diverse in scope and scale.
Much of Eugene’s work is informed by the exacting standards and pace of change required for scientific discovery. His projects deliver the high levels of precision and carefully controlled environments that scientific research demands, whilst also creating architecturally uplifting spaces. This approach has resulted in several of Eugene’s projects receiving prestigious S-LAB Awards.
His recently completed projects include several major laboratories for Imperial College London, most recently the Molecular Sciences Research Hub. Other notable projects include: The Life Sciences Building at the University of Bristol and Imperial Centre for Translational and Experimental Medicine, with the latter referred to as “a powerhouse of biomedical research” by the client.
Eugene has written about numerous industry issues relating to scientific discovery and design, including how a thriving science community is vital to the construction industry and how knowledge clusters are shaping flexible office development. Eugene is also a member of Designers for Science.
