Claire Haywood RIBA Partner
Claire has built a reputation for leading large-scale retail projects as well as major mixed-use developments that weave together homes, hotels and workplaces.
Alongside Claire’s specialism in retail, which saw her lead the complex, large-scale Westfield London expansion project, she has an established track record of delivering mixed-use regeneration projects, with considerable experience working in conservation areas and inner-city brownfield sites. She also has supported clients by undertaking the retained services role.
Claire has been vocal about the changing face of the retail sector, publishing regularly about topics such as Future-proofing for a volatile and uncertain market and The power of public space to reinvigorate retail development. Claire has contributed to both the judging of awards and industry mentoring schemes, working on these with leading publications and organisations such as New London Architecture, The Crown Estate and The Architects’ Journal. She is also a member of the REVO Urban Development Committee.
Since 2004, Claire has been an Examiner of the Professional Practice Course (RIBA Part 3) at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL and has also taught the Professional Practice Course at The Royal College of Art. She is an expert in project delivery and management, and provides training and mentoring to Project Leaders at Sheppard Robson.
