The Barony Campus wins a Scottish Design Award

We are honoured to share that The Barony Campus has won a Scottish Design Award for best Education Building or Project. The project was a truly collaborative effort and would not have been possible without the support of our client of East Ayrshire Council and the communities of Cumnock and Auchinleck.

We are proud to be recognised for a project that put engagement and community benefits at the fore of the design agenda, working with the Council, Skills Development Scotland and training and secondary education providers to enhance opportunities locally.

The collaborative effort is clear in the resulting space, which beyond consolidating five schools into one Campus, creates a focal point for the communities that use it. We hope that the shared facilities arranged around the heart of the school send a message of positivity and openness, acting as a community hub and meeting place—a place of calm, safety, exchange, discussion and joy.

Well done to our contributing team members, including Adam McGhee, Darren Reat, David Shaw, James Browne, James Dick, James Jones, Kat Johnson, Kevin Fielding, Laura Matthews, Lucy Durkan, Mathew Millington, Michael Peachey, Paul Kelly, Rupert Goddard, Ryan McMonagle and Simon Davies.
