Sheppard Robson has been nominated for three Regional RIBA Awards and a RIAS Regional Award for a range of projects that promote connection and collaboration in their own contexts. In London, Hounslow House creates a strong civic presence within the community as the new headquarters for the London Borough of Hounslow, promoting a feeling of openness and creating connections between the public and the council. Birmingham City University, City South Phase 3 provides accommodation for the University’s schools while creating a new Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences. Manchester’s timber-framed Hardman Square Pavilion anchors the new building in its context of commercial offices, providing relief from its steel neighbours, while the public landscaped square softens the building through entwined planting schemes. In Edinburgh, the Heriot-Watt University GRID promotes collaboration between departments, with an emphasis on ‘learning through making.’
