Old Marylebone Town Hall selected as a Civic Trust Awards Regional Finalist
6th November 2018
The project, which involves the deft restoration and repurposing of a historic building to provide the London Business School with a flagship education facility within one of London’s most iconic Town Halls, was named finalist for a Civic Trust AABC Conservation Award.
Originally designed by Sir Edwin Cooper, the two buildings that make up the Grade II listed Old Marylebone Town Hall were delivered in two stages – the Council House in 1914 and the Annexe in 1938. Following years of sustained use, the Council engaged London Business School to transform them into a major new facility that brings together educational, political and civic uses.
Winning schemes will be presented with an Award or Commendation at the 60th Annual Civic Trust Awards Ceremony on Friday 1st March 2019.
