New Science Building featured in Building magazine
4th October 2016
Building magazine’s architecture correspondent Ike Ijeh visited Sheppard Robson’s recently completed New Science Building at the University of Hertfordshire, where “louvres wrap the building in a metallic veil that suggests intrigue and activity within.”
Designed as a finely-tuned and bold response to creating a controlled laboratory building, Ijeh writes how the building “extends the trend of high-profile laboratory architecture even further”. The building’s aluminium fins are discussed as a pivotal part of the design that characterises the exterior of the structure, creating a “variety of shading and angles (that) unleashes a captivating series of waves across the elevation.”
