University of Edinburgh, King's Buildings Nucleus Edinburgh, UK
Nucleus will allow for the expansion of undergraduate teaching facilities while also providing a new focus to the campus heart. The building will create an attractive place of study and learning to enhance the student experience and provide facilities for students to spend more time on campus.
Phase 1A will create a harmonious new building that complements the surrounding campus architecture that will safeguard, preserve and enhance the centre of the university campus within the context of the ongoing regeneration programme. It will set the framework for a new major north-south route through the campus aligned with the University’s masterplan vision for a new and vibrant public realm. This will help to reanimate the heart of the campus while also fostering dynamic links between the different faculties.
