Park Royal, Building C, NW10 London, UK

For client Catalyst - one of the leading housing associations in London and the South East – Sheppard Robson has designed an affordable residential block (Block C) as part of the Park Royal development. The block comprises 70 units and forms part of the Sheppard Robson-designed First Central masterplan, which also includes two blocks of private sale housing (Block A and B) that were designed by the practice.

The U-shaped building typology of the blocks is used to maximise the views into the residential courtyards and of the park. Each apartment has access to outdoor amenity space in the form of a balcony, shared terrace or roof garden.

Due to cost constraints, the palette of materials of Block C moves away from the use of brick which characterises Blocks A and B. Instead an aluminium cladding system has been specified, with staggered window positioning and lines of colour animating the facades.
