Alan Shingler
Partner - Head of Sustainability, RIBA
Alan is head of sustainability at Sheppard Robson. He is highly regarded within the industry as an expert and is a regular speaker at conferences. He works within the urban regeneration sector, with specific responsibility for residential led projects. Alan leads the Practice’s sustainability programme, ensuring policies are integrated in all design processes. He received his degree and diploma in architecture from Leicester Polytechnic and studied design for extreme environments at the University of Houston, SICSA. He joined Sheppard Robson in January 1998, becoming a partner in 2006.
Alan was instrumental in winning Sheppard Robson the Sustainable Designer of the Year 2005/06 award and is responsible for Lighthouse, the first zero carbon house designed to meet Level 6 in the Code for Sustainable Homes.
